LEDucation features the industry’s top authorities addressing and discussing the latest advancements, trends, and regulations in solid state technology and lighting.

A variety of attendees from The Lighting Profession are able to participate in a variety of accredited educational seminars held throughout the two-day event and attend an exposition to view the latest LED luminaires, controls and energy efficient designs and advancements from leading LED manufacturers.

Lightfair 2015 Review: New York Celebrates Novelties in Lighting and Design for Today and Tomorrow

On May 05, Lightfair 2015 opened at the Javits Center in New York today with the 26th edition of the world’s largest annual commercial and architectural lighting trade show and conference delivering the largest trade show floor in LFI history. Thousands of attendees from around the world flooded LFI exhibit halls to explore and experience the future of lighting design solutions.

LFI 2015 Show Opening

Preceding and setting the stage for the trade show opening, the prestigious LFI Innovation Awards® highlighted the industry’s most innovative products and designs introduced during the last 12 months. The energy and excitement extending from the Awards is expected to continue through the close of the show on Thursday.

International Year of Light 2015 Celebration

The “Reception & Celebration of the International Year of Light 2015 (IYL 2015)” at LFI took place this evening with opening remarks by Dr. Ana Peršic from the UNESCO office in New York followed by a member of UNESCO’s Steering Committee for the IYL, Dr. Ernest Arthurs, who is the CEO of SPIE.

LFI 2015 Innovation Awards

Known as the “New Products Showcase” for many years, this LIGHTFAIR tradition has been renamed and redesigned to focus on both new and truly innovative and smart lighting technologies, products and designs. The LFI Innovation Awards honors industry innovations for lighting-related products and designs introduced in the past 12 months. Each product was judged by an independent panel of renowned lighting professionals. The 2015 LFI Innovation Awards saw 286 entries spanning 14 categories, with each submission judged by an independent panel of lighting professionals. Among the 14 winning companies are these key awards:

• OSRAM (OmniPoint™): Most Innovative Product of the Year—the program’s highest award, recognizing the most innovative new product, booth 1922;

• HUBBELL LIGHTING, INC. (Architectural Area Lighting KicK™): Design Excellence Award—recognizing outstanding achievement in design, booth 721;

• OSRAM (OSLON® SSL 730 nm): Technical Innovation Award—recognizing the most forward-thinking advancement in lighting technology, booth 1922;

Lightfair 2015 Program

For LIGHTFAIR International 2015, the Pre-Conference program took place from Sunday, May 3 – Monday, May 4, 2015 and the LFI Trade Show and Conference run from Tuesday, May 5 – Thursday, May 7, 2015. LIGHTFAIR® International is the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference and is sponsored by the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD).

Mark your Calendar for LFI 2016

The next edition, Lightfair 2016 Trade Show and (Pre) Conferences, will run from April 24 – April 28 in the San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, CA, USA. Also, the dates and location for Lightfair 2017 were announced recently: LFI 2017 returns to the Pennsylvania Convention Centre in Philadelphia.

LEDucation 2015: SSL Trends, Advancements and Regulations

Consistently ranked as one of the most attended and fastest growing educational events and expos, the LEDucation conference program features the industry’s top authorities to address and discuss the latest advancements, trends, and regulations in solid state lighting. The Conference Program focuses on a variety of one hour sessions and dedicated panel discussions targeting some of the hottest topics in solid state lighting technology today and in the future. These sessions will cover a diverse span of industry topics and will attract attendance from the architectural, engineering, OLED and LED technology, theatrical, educational, interior design, construction, building management, energy efficient lighting and controls, and wireless industries.

Over 220 Exhibits and Sessions

The two day educational event and expo will be held on March 5th & 6th at the Sheraton NY Times Square hotel. Doors will open from 10:00 am – 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 5th and 9:00 am – 3:00 pm on Friday, March 6th. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit more than 220 exhibiting manufacturers and to participate in CEU sessions held throughout the two-day event.

Review LFI 2014: Show Breaks All Records

“REVIEW LFI 2014: 25th EDITION  SET NEW ALL-TIME ATTENDANCE AND TRADESHOW RECORD”

The 25th edition of LIGHTFAIR set new all-time attendance and trade show records for its five-day run in Las Vegas, last June. The show spotlighted 576 exhibitors, including 107 first-time exhibiting companies and 103 manufacturers headquartered outside the U.S. Attendance broke all previous records with 26,059 professional attendees registered. The LFI 2014 attendee population included representatives from 74 countries.

LFI Trade Show & Conferences

LFI’s expanded trade show floor featured a product mix of more than 40 categories that included integrated design, alternative energy and solar power, OLEDs, healthcare, hospitality, digital signage and software. The 2014 LFI Conference curriculum offered more than 220 hours of education and contained 81 accredited courses, making it the largest Conference in LFI history. LIGHTFAIR introduced two Forums this year – the LFI Healthcare Lighting Forum and the LFI Hospitality Lighting Forum.

The LFI Innovation Awards® highlighted the best in new product innovation and celebrated 25 years of innovation by recognizing its 25-year exhibitors. LFI received 261 submissions from 135 companies and spanned 14 categories that were judged by an independent panel of lighting professionals. LFI – 25th Anniversary Celebration

The LFI 25th Anniversary Celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony took place in the LFI 25 networking lounge. During the trade show, attendees gathered in LFI 25 to celebrate the 25th anniversary event by watching a celebratory video, having their photo taken or taking selfies with the photo backdrop and participating in the #LFI social media conversation on the interactive digital wall.

The next Lightfair International (LFI) will be staged in New York at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on May 3-7, 2015.

The 26th annual LIGHTFAIR International (LFI), the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference, will be staged in New York at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center May 3-7, 2015.

LFI 2015 returns to New York

After hosting LFI 2014 in Las Vegas, LFI 2015 will return to a newly renovated state-of-the-art Javits Center and occupy exhibit halls on level three and level one.  LFI 2015 exhibitors and attendees will experience and benefit from a significantly enhanced show environment with new energy-efficient lighting. Daylighting from a new 240,000-square foot glass curtain wall enhances the architecture and creates a perfect show ambiance.

For LFI 2015, the Pre-Conference program will take place from Sunday, May 3 – Monday, May 4, 2015 and the LFI Trade Show and Conference will run from Tuesday, May 5 – Thursday, May 7, 2015. The exhibition is in line with the Lightfair 2014 program, however new features are added and a lot of lighting novelties are expected!
