LG Displays flexible OLED at Light+Building 2016

LG Display: OLED as Flexible, Transparent, Mirroring and Modular Solutions

LG Display recently showcased its latest advanced OLED light products and solutions at Light+Building 2016 from March 13th to 18th in Messe Frankfurt, Germany. A variety of different OLED shapes and sizes (eleven in total) of OLED light panels were exhibited along with four solutions using the panels: the LG Flexible OLED Solution, Transparent Connection Solution, Mirror Solution and Module Solution.

LG OLED: Design Flexibility and Supreme Light Quality

At the show, LG Display highlighted the main advantages of OLED light. They include not only the very design flexibility that makes the product suitable for a variety of architetural applications and venues, but also its supreme light quality which is closest to natural light, thereby making people feel comfortable and reducing eye fatigue. LG Display showcased possible applications of OLED light panels at high-end retail store, hospitality and office.

Natural Illumination and Enthusiasm all Around

The 2016 Light+Building exhibition was a great success for LG with many positive reactions from the visitors. More importantly, the natural illumination of OLED light and the design flexibility enthused the lighting designer and lighting architect that were around at the Frankfurt exhibition.

More international than ever before – every second visitor from outside Germany

Light + Building has once again confirmed its position as the world’s leading trade fair for lighting and building-services technology. The world’s biggest event for lighting, electrical technology and home and building automation closed its doors today after setting new records. Growth was recorded in all important indices – in the number of visitors, the number of exhibitors and the area occupied. Here’s a small Light Building 2016 Review.

Light Building 2016 Review: Data & Figures

2,589 exhibitors from 55 countries launched their new products onto the world market on around 248.500 sqm of exhibition space. A total of 216,000 trade visitors from 160 countries made their way to the Exhibition Centre in Frankfurt am Main from 13 to 18 March 2016, to discover innovations, solutions and new products. This represents growth of 2.3 percentage points. “We are extremely pleased with this year’s Light + Building and delighted with the further increase in the indices. This underscores the significance of Light + Building as the world’s leading trade fair for lighting and building services technology, as well as the positive mood in the sector and the on-going high level of exhibitor satisfaction”, said Wolfgang Marzin, President and CEO of Messe Frankfurt.

The level of internationality also rose in comparison with the previous event: 67 percent of exhibitors and 49 percent of visitors came from outside Germany. The best-represented visitor nations after Germany were Italy, The Netherlands, France, United Kingdom and China. Considerable growth was also noted in the number of visitors from Spain and East European countries, such as Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania, as well as from Turkey, India, Morocco and Iran.

Digitalisation is Key: Exhibitors and Complementary Programme of Events present the latest Technology and Design Trends

The spotlight of Light + Building 2016 was on digitalisation. The motto of the fair was, ‘Where modern spaces come to life: digital – individual – networked’. The industry showed intelligent solutions and future-oriented technologies revolving around digitalisation and networking, as well as the latest design trends. In this connection, the focus was not only on trends in the lighting market and the influence of light on people but also on networked safety and security, intelligent home and building automation and efficient energy management. These key issues were also taken up in the multi-faceted complementary programme and enlarged on in expert lectures.

Luminale attracts almost 200,000 visitors to the Rhine-Main region

Light Building Frankfurt goes City: during the evenings, Luminale 2016 created a link between the fair and the city. Concurrently with the world’s leading trade fair for the sector, the Biennale of Lighting Culture presented over 200 unique lighting installations in the Rhine-Main region. This year, the ‘urban lighting laboratory’ attracted almost 200,000 people. The combination of trade fair and metropolitan experience transformed the Rhine-Main region into a unique meeting place for everyone interested in lighting and, for the eighth time, presented an unrivalled opportunity to see architecture ‘in a new light’ and fascinating lighting concepts in the urban landscape.

The Light Building 2016 countdown has begun! In less than 24 hours, the Light + Building 2016 show will opens its doors. Almost 2,600 exhibitors have registered to present their latest products for the fields of lighting, electrical engineering and house & building automation.

Light Building 2016: It’s all about… digitalisation!

The dominant theme at this years world leading trade fair 2016 is ‘digitalisation’. Hence, the motto of this year’s fair is ‘Where modern spaces come to life: digital – individual – networked’.

During the evening hours, Light + Building goes into the city with Luminale 2016. The Light Festival in Frankfurt and Offenbach bridges the gap between the city and the exhibition centre. Around 200 lighting events in total transform Frankfurt into an international metropole of light.

Luminale 2016: Light + Building goes into the City!

In the evening hours, Luminale 2016 bridges the gap between the city and the exhibition centre. Up to 200 lighting events by leading artists and designers transform Frankfurt into an international metropolis of light.

The Biennale of Light Culture

In showrooms, galleries, museums, churches, stations, parks and in other, more unusual places, exhibitors at Light+Building 2016, lighting designers, architects, artists and various initiatives and action groups will be presenting their innovative lighting projects at Luminale, the 8th Biennale of Lighting Culture.

Amongst the highlights at Luminale are the light installation by Hartung & Trenz in St. Catherine’s church (Katharinenkirche) on the Hauptwache and the audio-visual, kinetic light installation by Christopher Bauder in the Mousonturm theatre.

The current programme booklet offers a comprehensive overview of the projects to be seen in Frankfurt am Main and Offenbach. Interlight Moscow 2016: International Trade Fair for Decorative and Technical Lighting

As the International Trade Fair for Decorative and Technical Lighting, Electrical Engineering, Home and Building Automation, Interlight Moscow 2016 is powered by Light + Building. It is the only trade fair in Russia and the CIS covering the whole range of products relating to above stated areas.

Light + Building 2016:  Leading Trade Fair for Lighting and Building Services Technology

Over 2,400 exhibitors take part in Light Building Frankfurt. Almost one in two of the over 210,000 visitors comes from outside Germany. After Germany, the top ten visitor nations are The Netherlands, Italy, Austria, France, Switzerland, Great Britain, China, Spain, Belgium and Sweden. The most important visitor target groups are architects, interior architects, designers, planners, engineers, artisans, the distributive trades and industry.

Every two years, the industry presents its latest innovations for the fields of lighting, electrical engineering, house and building automation and software for the construction industry at the world’s leading trade fair for architecture and technology. The main theme at Light + Building is energy efficiency.

Review: Light+Building 2014 sets new Visitor Record

Light Building Frankfurt once again provided an impressive demonstration of its role as the world’s leading trade fair for lighting technology. The world’s biggest exhibition of lighting, electrical engineering, house and building automation and software for the building industry ended with a new record on the visitor side: 211,500 trade visitors (2012: 195,582) from 161 countries came to Frankfurt to find out about the latest innovations and solutions in lighting and beyond of the manufacturers taking part.

The visitor structure underscored the significance of Light + Building as the world’s leading trade fair for lighting and building-services technology. For the industry, the large proportion of foreign visitors (almost 1 out of 2) is an important factor for a positive assessment of the fair. Hardly any other fair in the world is distinguished by as many innovations as Light Building. Complex and highly efficient systems are developed in next to no time in the fields of lighting and building-services technology. In this respect, Light + Building 2014 exceeded all expectations by far and left no doubt about its position as the world’s leading trade fair for the sector.

Luminale 2014: Biennale of Lighting Culture

“LUMINALE 2014 PRESENTS AMBITIOUS LIGHT ART: AROUND 100 LIGHTING INSTALLATIONS TAKE LIGHT + BUILDING INTO THE CITY”

For more than 10 years now, Luminale has been held every two years, alongside the Light Building Frankfurt fair. With its 140,000 visitors at the last event (in 2012), it is now firmly established internationally as the Biennale of Lighting Culture.

Get-Together-Event for Lighting Designers – Manufacturers – Artists

Luminale forms the evening programme for the 195,000 or so visitors to Light+Building. The combination of trade fair and city event transforms Frankfurt and its surrounding Rhine-Main region into a unique centre for lighting-related issues and brings together anyone who is anyone in the sector from manufacturers to designers and artists. It is an opportunity to see and be seen; an opportunity that occurs – in this concentrated form, at least – only once every two years during Light+Building. A shuttle service links the trade fair and the city.

New Lighting Technology Application

Luminale is a platform for ideas and innovations that relate to lighting, energy efficiency, the application of new and smart lighting technologies and materials and to the quality of life in our towns and cities. Participation in Luminale is a tried and tested instrument for gaining public attention.
