LpS 2016 Comprehensive Conference Program Reveiled

Announcing of the LpS 2016 Comprehensive Conference Program – The Leading European Lighting Event

The 6th International LED professional Symposium + Expo (LpS 2016) in Bregenz, Austria, from September 20th to 22nd, has announced the LpS2016 Comprehensive Conference Program. The program is increased to 5 parallel running tracks with over 100 lectures, four different workshops, three interactive forums and three keynotes of top-level industry professionals. The three days of the symposium have been divided into a “Strategy Day” followed by a “Technology and Design Day” and ending with a “Solution Day”. In addition to the outstanding conference program, over 100 exhibitors will present latest innovations and the current status of LED and OLED lighting in the 3,000 square meter exhibition area. The organizers are expecting more than 1,500 visitors from over 50 countries.

100+ Lectures in Five Parallel Tracks

Trends and Technologies for Future Lighting Solutions” respectively “Smart Technologies for Lighting Innovations” is the topic that runs through all tracks and presentations. The conference opens its program with a “Strategy Day”, composed of five tracks: Lighting Trends, Lighting Intelligence, Lighting Design, and the ISA and Photonics Cluster forums. On the “Technology and Design Day”, the core topics are Light Sources, Smart Lighting, Connectivity and Engineering, together with a “Design and Intelligent Lighting” workshop. Finally, the “Solution Day” gives insights on System Quality, System Qualification, Applications, Horticulture and Internet of Things, respectively, Artificial Intelligence. The LpS 2016 call for papers brought in a lot of interesting lectures!

Three Forums on Emerging Markets & Innovative Applications

Two top-class forums with discussions will mark the first day of the conference. ISA, the leading Chinese based Solid-State Lighting Alliance, will present news on emerging markets, innovative application of LEDs in different fields, Solid-State Lighting developments in Asia with a cooperation model, and LED performance insurance in their forum. The Photonics Cluster forum will provide an overview of alternative light sources with its technologies and market potentials as well as insightful information on laser light sources. On the second day APIL, the leading Association of Italian Independent Lighting Designers, will hold a “Design meets Technology Forum” to help understand the needs and requirements of lighting designers in regards to design criteria in applications.

Four Interactive Workshops on SSL Lighting and Intelligence

The aim of the “Spectrally and Tunable LED and OLED Lighting Workshop” organized by the EU FP7 HI-LED project is to attract participants from the smart lighting sector. HI-LED is probing the effects of light on people’s health and circadian rhythms, the growth rate of plants, and the preservation and perception of paintings. They are developing new light engines by optimizing LED configurations and by combining LEDs with OLEDs as well as creating dynamically tunable lamps that can fit many different applications. EPIC, the industry association that promotes the sustainable development of organizations working in the field of photonics in Europe, is organizing a “Horticultural Lighting Workshop” and will present their latest findings in plant growth system lights. The workshop organized by Instrument Systems and TÜV will cover “Solid State Lighting Measurements – From Basics to Recent Developments”. Jakajima, the organizing company of the annual “Internet of Things Event” in Eindhoven and Matchmaker for Innovators, will cover the hot topic of “Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence” in their workshop and group discussions.

Strong Industry and Academia Presence

Speakers, forum organizers and workshop holders are present from a balanced combination from industry and academia. The lighting industry will be represented by the various national and international organizations, such as  Bartenbach, Cree, Crytur, CSEM, DALI, GE Lighting, Instrument Systems, among others.

The academia will be represented by renowned key organizations like Fraunhofer, Joanneum Research, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Lighting Europe,  Technical University Darmstadt, University of Barcelona, University of California, University of Edinburgh, University of Freiburg, University of Padova, Yole Développment, just to mention a few.

Organizations like Assodel, ECPE, EPIC, Global Lighting Association, ISA, LED Light for You, Lighting Europe, Photonics21, Wisto, WKO, Yole and Zhaga are associate partners of the LpS 2016 Event.

Three Keynotes by Industry Authorities

The Nobel Prize Laureate, Professor Shuji Nakamura, inventor of efficient blue and white LEDs, Dr. Ronan Burges, Deputy Head of Unit “Photonics” at the European Commission, and Diederik de Stoppelaar, Secretary General of the LightingEurope will be in Bregenz to open the three days of concentrated exchange on Solid-State Lighting technologies and innovations. The audience will gain insights on developments in LED and Laser-Diode technologies, the strategic lighting roadmap 2025 in the field of intelligent lighting and Solid State Lighting in the framework of “Horizon 2020”.

Exhibition Reception: Social Highlights to Exchange Views and Ideas

On Day One, there will be an “Exhibition Reception” that will bring together experts from industry and research. Talks will be held and glasses will be raised to an event inspired by innovation, forward thinking and networking. In the evening of the first day the national and international members of the press, companies with product launches, media partners and supporting organizations are invited to join the press conference with inspiring interviews and presentations. The evening will end in a relaxed atmosphere with personal conversations while enjoying a drink and tasty delicacies.

The third highlight of the LpS 2016 will be the “Get-Together Boat Tour” on Lake Constance in the evening of the second conference day. An unforgettable evening with like-minded people, a beautiful view of the lake, a delicious buffet and live music will make it easy to expand personal networks in the lighting domain.
