Congress Licht 2014: empowering light innovation


From September 21 – 24, the “Licht 2014” Congress will be held in The Hague, Netherlands, being the 21st edition of the bi-annual lighting event. This years theme is “Licht leicht gemacht, Licht leicht gebracht”. The event, with its roots in Germany, is arranged for (semi-)scientists and for anyone “working with light and lighting”. The target of the 4-day conference is to bring together scientists, specifiers, industrial players and students and to empower the information exchange on the latest light science and praxis.

Licht 2014 Program and participants

Licht 2014 participants will be able to choose from a broad offering existing of actual topics related to light and lighting. The program is composed by a group of international scientists and experts from the lighting praxis. Due to its unique character, it will also ensure the attractiveness of the conference for pure practical workers. The congress offering exists of lectures, interactive workshops and expositions from practice applications. Key topics are about road- and traffic lighting, light and health, light and architecture and intelligent street lighting. With the support of the TU Delft University, a daylight workshop will be held. Other topics will be focused on the coming of new light sources such as LED, OLED and plasma and the measurement of light- and smart lighting knowledge.

‘Out-of-the-Box Lighting Solutions

This bi-annual event is THE springboard where science and practice get together to exchange ideas and results. Apart from that, Licht 2014 aims to stimulate ‘out of box’ idea finding and innovation. The congress is intended for anyone working directly or indirectly with lighting, such as governments, companies in the field of public lighting, lighting architects, interior designers, facility managers and project developers looking for new and energy saving solutions. Complementary, you will meet manufacturers, agents and suppliers of various other lighting products at the World Forum, along with landscape designers and planners of lighting products and systems, developers and users of domotica and light management systems. It will definitely be an interesting congress for anyone having a ‘warm hart and passion for light’.

Organisation and Lectures

Licht 2014 is organized by leading light institutes from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and The Netherlands. The lectures will be held in German, however the main communication language outside the presentations will be English.
